相约北美 / 探亲团聚 / 申请父母移民，为什么提交护照原件呢？(请教过来人)我父母于去年夏天在北京递交了亲属移民申请，近来接到加拿大使馆的回信--要求他们递交护照和照片若干张。不知道是为什么？需要护照多长时间？记得他们去年申请时已经交了N张照片。而且他们近期还要出国要用护照，不知会耽误多长时间。是不是现在大家办移民都要先交护照呢？(我太太和我96年申请时好象没有交护照原件。) 急切等待过来人指教！ 先谢了！

我们是去年年初办的SPONSORSHIP，用了4个月左右。好象须税务信，工资单之类的。之后他们在北京受到了申请表，FILE APPLICATION。

我也正要开始办. 请问办父母两个人移民,资助人递移民局的申请表是填一份(把父母都包括在内),还是填两份,各填各的? 如果只填一份,Fees Receipt是否也用一张,把父母两人的费用一并交了? 谢谢先.

sponsor application is one case only for two people. If you need to apply for your parents-in-law too, then u need two. Yes, fee reciept is only one for two people. it is about $3000 per family, I remember.

我记得我妹5年前申请移民的时候,好象把护照寄去了北京.我妹夫在加拿大,他一个人面试,我妹和孩子没有.

我是办理团聚的，我也收到了补交护照原件的信。我听说可能是因为以后发的签证是贴在护照上的，所以你还是尽快交了吧!

my case is the same. They ask for my parents' original passport. I assume they are starting to issue the "Maple-leaf" card coz they also ask for height. However, I'm just wondering why there is NO physical exam

Thanks for the kind info. now I do believe that they will issue a stamp to the passport, otherwise the notarized copy should be good enough, However, how come there is no physical exam, no interview?Do you know why they ask the passport for independent immigration?
